Planning & Zoning Boards

The Planning Board consists of nine members and up to two alternates. The board's responsibilities include preparing the city's Master Plan, reviewing land subdivisions, site and concept plans, and granting type "c" variances. Planning Board meetings are held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month (6:30 pm) unless affected by holidays or lack of business. Please check the Home page Meetings Calendar for actual meeting dates.

The Zoning Board consists of seven members and up to two alternates. The board's responsibilities include adjudicating applications for land use variances (bulk and use), interpretations of zoning ordinances, and appeals to a Zoning Officer's decision. A complete listing of the Zoning Board's powers and duties may be found in the City Code Chapter 370, Article XI, § 370-89. Zoning Board meetings are held on the 2nd Thursday of each month (6:30 pm) unless affected by holidays or lack of business. Please check the Home page Meetings Calendar for actual meeting dates. The Zoning Board is also known as the Zoning Board of Adjustment.
