David Gonzalez

Councilman David Gonzalez began his first term as a member of Bridgeton City Council in January 2019 after winning his seat in the November 2018 municipal election.

Councilman Gonzalez and his wife Johanna have two daughters; Melissa, a sophomore at Gloucester County College and Tiffany, a sophomore at Cumberland County College. In addition to their daughters, Councilman Gonzalez and his wife have a granddaughter, Hannah Joy.

When not carrying out his work as a Council member, Mr. Gonzalez serves as the Senior Pastor of Overcoming-Victory Pearl Street United Church as well as the CEO of Gonzalez Construction LLC. Mr. Gonzalez is also an associate of Regalbuto Septics focused on Real Estate Evaluations.

For the prior three years until his election to Bridgeton City Council, Mr. Gonzales served on the Bridgeton Board of Education. Mr. Gonzalez also served for 18 years as a member of the Bridgeton Zoning Board of Adjustment with eight years as the board's chairperson. Mr. Gonzalez was formerly the Secretary of the Bridgeton Christian Ministers Association in addition to 10 years serving his country in the United States Army after graduating from Cumberland Regional High School.

Councilman Gonzalez earned his Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from Thomas Edison State College following the completion of coursework at Temple University. In 2001 he appeared in the International Who's Who of Professional Historical Society as well as receiving the McDonald's Corporation NE Division Significant Contribution Award and the McDonald's NE Division Hispanic Leadership Summit Award

In addition to his professional roles, Councilman Gonzalez's civic involvements have included organizing and coordinating various anti-violence initiatives within the Bridgeton community.
